CAAF25; The Biggest Climate Event In Africa
Africa’s Biggest Climate Event is Back: Announcing CAAF25!
Following the resounding success of Climate Action Africa Forum 2024 (CAAF24), Climate Action Africa is excited to announce that Africa’s biggest climate event returns for another impactful edition. CAAF24, themed “Green Economies, Brighter Futures: Innovating and Investing in Africa’s Climate-Smart Development,” brought together over 2,000 attendees from 22 countries. Among the diverse participants were multilateral organizations, private sector leaders, activists, innovators, policymakers, and students—united in the mission to shape a more sustainable future for Africa.
The forum provided a platform for industry leaders like GiZ, the African Development Bank (AfDB), AFREXIMBank, The Great Green Wall of Africa Foundation (GGWAF) the World Bank, Transcorp, PwC, MTN, Coca-Cola, IHS, MPi, Open Access Data Centres (OADC), and over 40 other organizations to demonstrate their climate commitments and showcase their contributions to Africa’s climate-smart development. CAAF24 laid the foundation for a more sustainable and resilient Africa through engaging discussions, impactful panels, and hands-on workshops.
Now, Climate Action Africa proudly presents CAAF25, set to take place in Lagos, Nigeria, with a focus on “Paving the Path for a Low-Carbon Developed Africa: Sustainable Infrastructure and Clean Energy for Industrialization.”
Why CAAF25 Matters
“The Climate change challenge is daunting, news on climate change continues to be sobering. Global temperature figures have reached new heights for the 12th consecutive month. We must do better by taking action and this forum offers such a platform for these actions”
Edith Jibunoh
Manager – External Affairs for East & Southern Africa World Bank Group.
Despite Africa’s current development trajectory, the continent holds immense potential to become a global leader in sustainable development. However, to achieve this, we must prioritize strategies that foster growth while protecting the environment. With 35 of the 50 countries most vulnerable to climate change located in Africa, transitioning to a low-carbon future is not just an option—it is a necessity.
CAAF25 is more than just a forum; it’s a catalyst for change. It will spotlight cutting-edge projects, foster knowledge exchange, and promote collaborations aimed at accelerating Africa’s transition to a low-carbon economy. From energy innovations to infrastructure investment, CAAF25 will be the hub for transformative ideas that turn climate challenges into opportunities for growth.
What to Expect at CAAF25:
- Inspiring case studies on clean energy and low-carbon industrialization across Africa.
- New partnerships between African nations and global stakeholders to drive sustainable progress.
- Opportunities to mobilize investments in renewable energy and green infrastructure.
