Ramatoulaye (Rama) Diallo is the founder and CEO of GGWoA Foundation. An organization aimed at enabling climate adaptation and mitigation initiatives across Africa, to improve lives for Africans, particularly women, children, and youths. Through the foundation, she has led major climate action initiatives in Africa; notably; 1) the initiative to drive awareness of the Great Green Wall project across the Sahelian communities and engage stakeholders and policy makers to prioritize the project in the development agenda for the region. 2) the initiative to engage private sector in the Great Green Wall project to mobilize more financial resources to catalyze the reforestation effort across the Sahel. 3) the effort to drive the inclusion of women and youths in climate actions across Africa. This effort is part of
Rama’s mission to develop and empower African women and youths.
Prior to GGWoA Foundation, Rama was a Special Adviser to the UAE for Expo 2020 where she led the agenda for African Union and Francophone African countries. She was decorated by the Ruler of Dubai, H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for her outstanding contribution to the success of the Expo. She was the Minister in Mali for eight consecutive years where she led several strategic initiatives and was decorated as the Officer of the National Order of Mali and the Commander of the National Order of France.
Rama joined Human Capital Africa as a board member in 2021 where she has been contributing to the organization’s effort to bridge the gap between evidence and action on improving learning for children under the age of 10 across sub-Saharan Africa. In addition, prior to serving in Malian Government, she worked for the World Bank, as the regional coordinator for the Development Marketplace in the WAEMU area. She was the CEO of STARCOM, a leading Public Relations company, for over 10 years where she led over 15 Presidential summits in AU, ECOWAS, and CENSAD. Rama has a master’s degree in international marketing from Columbus
University. She earned a post-master’s degree in Economic and Competitive Intelligence from the École de Guerre Économique in Paris France. She is currently working on a PhD on Digital Literacy and Development for Ecological and Energy Transition.
